We are delighted to announce that our next concert will take place on Sunday 10 November at 1130 in Hall 1 at Kings Place. For further details and to book tickets please visit www.kingsplace.co.uk/chamberstudio.
This coffee concert will feature our inaugural Mentorship group the Navarra Quartet in Schubert’s ever-popular String Quintet in C with guest cellist Guy Johnston and The Busch Ensemble, Royal Overseas League Competition 2012 winner, in Ravel’s Piano Trio in A minor; a wonderful work which calls for virtuosity and delicacy from the performers in equal measure to bring alive its ever-changing pallet of colour and nuance.
“The excellent Navarra String Quartet” The Guardian, April 2013 (Royal Festival Hall)
“Guy [Johnston] was remarkable … an exceptionally sensitive musician.” Sunday Telegraph
“The Busch [Ensemble]’s playing … was brilliant, passionate and compelling.” The Argos, May 2013 (Brighton Festival)
We are doubling the number of Junior Masterclass Days at Kings Place next season with classes on Sunday 24 November 2013 and Sunday 2 February 2014. School-age groups will play in turn to London Haydn Quartet’s James Boyd and to ChamberStudio’s Artistic Director Richard Ireland.
Our next Hall 2 Public Masterclass will take place on Sunday 1 June 2014. Previously we’ve welcomed Shmuel Ashkenasi, Ferenc Rados and Ralph Kirshbaum to give these special masterclasses, which leave a lasting impression with players and audiences alike.
Our regular Sunday open masterclasses will recommence on Sunday 6 October after the summer break, coinciding with the opening of the LCMS 13/14 season of Sunday evening chamber concerts at Kings Place, and the early evening free foyer chamber music performances.
Observers are welcome at our open and public masterclasses free of charge.
We look forward to welcoming you to ChamberStudio in 13/14
