The Kallisto quartet was formed in 2008 at the Royal College of Music, London. The group draws on the extensive previous solo and chamber music experience of its members and is already proving to be a highly successful ensemble, winning the 2009 Cavatina Intercollegiate String Quartet Competition and RCM String Quartet Competition in 2009 and 2010. In April 2010 they were winners of the Gerald Heller and Rosemary Rapaport String quartet prize held at the Royal Academy. They were recently featured on BBC Radio 3′s ‘Composer portraits’. The quartet have worked with distinguished ensembles such as the Allegri, Vanbrugh, Chilingarian and Endellion quartets and performed at the West Dean and Chelsea music festivals. The quartet performs regularly in venues around London and abroad including recent concerts at Lincolns Inn Chapel, St James Piccadilly and St Martin in the Fields, Trafalgar square.
