Some of the world’s finest chamber music players and teachers give masterclasses at ChamberStudio. Groups accepted onto the scheme design, in consultation with Artistic Director Richard Ireland, their own Mentorship consisting of a set of three-hour masterclasses with a chosen mentor. This will normally be a ChamberStudio Mentor but might also be a suggested guest (see Guest Mentors for the biographies of some of those who are currently working with groups or have been invited in the past). Masterclasses are held at Kings Place on weekday evenings and weekend afternoons and are open, and free, to observers.

Groups may also be invited to take part in one of our other schemes:

Visiting Professor Series – We have welcomed Ferenc Rados, Rita Wagner, Eberhard Feltz and Erich Höbarth, among others, as Visiting Professors.

Hall One Masterclasses – Special guests, who have given stand-alone masterclasses in Hall One at Kings Place, have included Alfred Brendel, Sir András Schiff, Steven Isserlis and Shmuel Ashkenasi. An article about our most recent masterclass with Alfred Brendel can be read here Alfred Brendel Strad article.

Residencies – A ChamberStudio Residency provides the rare opportunity for a group to work intensively over a three-day period in a peaceful setting outside London.
