Anna Wolstenholme

Anna Wolstenholme is Senior Lecturer in chamber music and artist development lecturer at the Royal Academy of Music in addition to being solo flute at the Bergen Philharmonic.  She is at the forefront of development of the Academy’s new chamber music provision and preparation of RAM students to meet the current challenges of a career in music through their Artist Development programme.  Anna took over the implementation of the new chamber music strategy at RAM this Spring and manages the annual chamber music festival which is in collaboration with Tamara Stefanovich for 20-21.  

Alongside her associate professor post at the University of Bergen (Grieg Academy), she is a consultant for the Drake Calleja Trust and a regular guest principal flute of major UK orchestras with whom she has toured and recorded extensively.  Her recording of works by Gorecki and Turnage gained critical acclaim from BBC Music and Gramophone magazines. She has also been a guest professor, examiner and given masterclasses and workshops for RAM, RCM, Norsk Fløyteforumet  and GSMD amongst others.

Anna has reviewed a variety of new music publications for Rhinegold Press and worked extensively in outreach across a wide spectrum including Jessie’s Fund, National Youth Orchestra and LSO Discovery.  In collaboration with ‘Musical Orbit’ she delivers webinars for Music Departments of UK Universities providing advice on the music business and online masterclasses.
