Witness the immersive behind-the-scenes preparation of the great chamber music in masterclasses and open rehearsals by the Hans Keller Forum ensembles and mentors.
Alasdair Beatson and Richard Ireland will coach the Astatine Trio and the Aestus, Kyan, and Hirvi quartets in a diverse range of string quartet and piano trio repertoire.
Tickets are free of charge but must be reserved in advance.
Held alongside the masterclasses is a new series of lectures linked to Hans Keller. Following this session, from 5.00pm-6.15pm, Nicky Swett will present Behind the Music: Pre-compositional thought in Benjamin Britten’s Second Quartet, featuring live excerpts performed by the Aestus Quartet.
Hannah Uzor has been Artist in Residence for Hans Keller Forum 2022/23. Hannah is holder of the Milein Cosman Scholarship for Drawing at the Slade School of Fine Art and her work will be viewable in an exhibition in the West Road Concert Hall foyer.
Hans Keller Forum (HKF) is a new ChamberStudio programme which provides in-depth mentorship for selected chamber ensembles from UK conservatoires. It runs as a set of three day residential courses held at West Road Concert Hall.
