Our Mentorships are open to professional ensembles that are no longer eligible for support at a conservatoire or university. Fellowship holders are also welcome to apply. We accept applications from all instrument combinations, and applications are open year-round.

Chamber Studio’s mentors are some of the most accomplished chamber musicians of our time. With a deep commitment to nurturing the next generation, they bring a wealth of experience, insight, and passion to every session, offering expert guidance tailored to each ensemble’s unique journey.

£120 per 3-hour masterclass (£40 per hour).

Your mentor is usually chosen in consultation with our Artistic Director, Donald Grant. However, in certain cases, we may be able to consider a musician who is not currently on our list.

• New applicants: Start with an online consultation with our Artistic Director, Donald Grant. You may be asked to submit video materials.
• Returning ensembles: If you have participated in a Mentorship or Residency within the past year, you can discuss your next steps directly with Donald Grant. If it has been over a year or your ensemble has changed personnel, you will begin with a new consultation.
