Terms and Conditions

By applying for a ChamberStudio programme you agree to the following terms and conditions, so please read them carefully. They exist to ensure we can continue to work productively, positively, and respectfully with our mentors, venue administrations, and you.

Mentorship programme

The dates you give us during the planning process for your Mentorship or Residency programme must be protected during that process.

The repertoire you decide on for each masterclass is advertised on our website, on the Kings Place website, and in our event reminders to our followers, supporters, and masterclass observers. You must therefore let us know of any changes straight away. Repertoire must be confirmed and approved at least two weeks before a masterclass. Changes to your repertoire selection will not be possible after this date.

Residency programme

Residencies are planned to be three days/two nights long.  They provide 10 hours of coaching with a chosen mentor in four 2 ½ hour sessions. There is the potential for flexibility; it may be appropriate for two groups to share a Residency or for a Residency length to be increased, for example. This will be agreed in advance at your Consultation or planning call with Richard.

Where possible, one of the sessions will be planned as a public masterclass open to observers. The repertoire you decide for this will be advertised on our website and in our event reminders to our followers, supporters, and masterclass observers. Repertoire must be confirmed and approved at least two weeks before a masterclass. Changes to your repertoire selection will not be possible after this date.

Accommodation and food are included. Dietary requirements will be catered for where possible and should be made clear in the Planning form. Travel must be booked and paid for by the ensemble.

Publicity

You will be asked to provide an ensemble photo and biography as part of your planning Form. These will be used on our website, the Kings Place website and across our social media channels. We may also use these in other locations as appropriate. If you update either of these please let us know so that we can do the same.

We will add contact details of all individual members of the ensemble to our mailing list to receive newsletters and other publicity about ChamberStudio events. At the end of your Mentorship you may, of course, opt not to receive these mailings.

The Mentorships and Residency schemes receive generous funding from trusts and individual supporters and would not be possible without the on-going support of Kings Place. We provide regular reports to our funders on our work – we may contact you for a few sentences on your experience of the programmes to feed into these reports.

We'll be happy to share events you publicise. Please prompt us.

Payment

Ensembles applying to ChamberStudio for the first time:

  • We will send you a first invoice for the Consultation when a date has been confirmed

  • If you are accepted onto the scheme, we will send you a second invoice for the number of 3-hour sessions you have planned for your programme once details have been agreed

Ensembles planning to continue from a recent Mentorship or Residency:

  • We will send you an invoice for the number of 3-hour sessions you have planned for your programme once details have been agreed

  • If the gap since your last ChamberStudio programme is more than a year, or if your ensemble has changed one of its members, your new programme will need to start with a fresh Consultation.

You must pay within due date of any invoice we send you. If you do not pay promptly, we may cancel your programme. We are unable to confirm final details of sessions until payment is received.

Cancellations

If ChamberStudio has to cancel a programme or session for any reason we will do our best to reschedule, but will refund you if it’s not possible.

If your ensemble cancels a programme session within four weeks before the event we cannot refund you. This is because our commitments to your mentor and to our partner venues will have been confirmed. We will do our best to reschedule but cannot guarantee the outcome.

Administration

All masterclass dates must be organised through ChamberStudio and not directly with a mentor unless specifically agreed with ChamberStudio in advance.

Efficiency of communication

It is important that, while we are planning your programme and for the duration of the programme itself, emails are responded to as soon as possible and within a maximum of three days. If it is likely that you will be uncontactable for a longer period of time you must let us know in advance.
